Abstract

This work proposes a new tuning method for the simplified filtered Smith predictor (SFSP). Based on the stable implementation structure and an auxiliary filter, it is possible to simply and directly tune the controller for first-order models with time delay. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method and its good performance, an evaluation of the proposed method is carried out against another controller from the recent literature through simulations and performance indices.
