Abstract
This paper presents an emulation-based design condition for event-triggered control systems under denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Considering a deterministic model that constrains the duration of DoS attacks only in an average sense, the proposed condition ensures the exponential stability of the closed-loop system and provides a maximal percentage of time at which information can be lost without leading to instability. A multi-objective optimization problem is proposed to establish the relation between the reduction of transmission attempts and the tolerance to DoS attacks. The commitment between these two objectives is illustrated by means of numerical simulations, as well as the effectiveness of the proposed ETC scheme in reducing the network resources usage even in the presence of DoS attacks.
