Abstract
This paper presents an Optimal Power Flow (OPF) to minimize the load shedding in the steady- state operation of unbalanced three-phase islanded microgrids. The droop characteristic of Distributed Generators (DG) connected to the grid through Voltage Source Inverters is appropriately modeled. The limits of voltage, generated power, and frequency are also considered. Besides, the frequency dependence of loads and line parameters are taken into account. The methodology is evaluated using a 25-bus unbalanced islanded microgrid, and the results point out that considering load variation reduces the total amount of load shed.
