Abstract
This paper presents an open-circuit semiconductor fault detection strategy for modular converters. It is proposed a specific technique for filtering the harmonic signals of the output voltage, with a faster identification capacity than the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the most used method until then. The technique proposed uses the Generalized Delayed Signal Cancellation operation (GDSC), a method capable of cancelling groups of harmonics, similar to a bandpass filter, but with a faster response.
