Abstract
This paper presents a wind power generation system driven by a Squirrel Cage Induction Generator (SCIG), connected to the grid and which mitigates harmonics of the grid currents by means of an Active Power Filter (APF) that uses the instantaneous power (p-q) strategy. The system consists of wind turbine, gearbox, GIGE, electronic back-to-back power converter and non-linear loads. The control of the GIGE and the power delivered to the grid is carried out, in addition to performing MPPT through the method of optimal peak speed. The studied system was mathematically modeled and simulated using Matlab / Simulink software. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed research.
