Abstract
This paper presents the performance analysis of a variable speed wind turbine with a doubly fed induction generator during a grid voltage dip. Simluations are performed with and without the installation of the crowbar protection, tipically present in this kind of wind turbine. It was possible to observe the consequences of the voltage dip on the generator, as well as the importance of the protection to keep the wind turbine within the safe operation conditions.
