Abstract
The objective of this research is to identify the energy management efficiency level of state public schools in the state of Ceará, using as parameters infrastructure data, operating characteristics and electricity consumption. For that, data envelopment analysis was used with an input-oriented variable returns model. The results indicate that schools with a higher level of infrastructure have a higher level of energy management and that the Ceará Department of Education can save about 5.1 million reais by making all its units reach the maximum efficiency benchmark.
