Abstract

This article introduces a modified Buck-Boost DC-DC converter non-isolated, using a single power switch, single inductor and with input current ripple reduction. The proposed DC-DC converter is based on a classic Buck-Boost converter operating in a continuous conduction mode (CCM). Furthermore, the operating principle, steady-state analysis, practical voltage gain and efficiency of the proposed converter in (CCM) are discussed. A detailed discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) analysis is presented. A detailed mathematical description of the circuit operation is carried out, providing the means for the adequate design of the converter. Moreover, simulation results on 100 V, 100 W, 50 kHz a 40 V input source are presented for validate the proposed converter and the concept.
