Abstract

This work deals with the design of PID controllers for sampled-data systems via a discrete-time approach. To design the PID controller, the closed-loop system is reformulated as a control system via static output feedback. The main contribution of this work is the proposal of a design condition via quasi-LMI whose solution does not depend on iterative methods or equality constraints as in related work. The proposed design condition guarantees the eigenvalue placement of the closed-loop system in a circular region within the unit circle, thus guaranteeing the closed-loop performance. The effectiveness of the proposed condition is verified in two numerical examples.
