Aplicação de Métodos de Otimização na Coordenação de Relés de Sobrecorrente

Abstract

In power systems, the overcurrent protection stands out for its simple operation and low cost. However, the coordination of the devices that performs this function have to be re-evaluated whenever a change in the circuit topology occurs, once the proper operation of these devices depends directly on the rated and on the short-circuit currents in the system. By these factors, the optimal coordination of overcurrent relays has been object of study for a long time, accumulating a vast bibliography. This article synthesizes important theorical aspects related to the coordination problem using optimization algorithms. To illustrate the methodology, some cases from the literature are presented, and the coordination problem is solved using optimization algorithms.
