Synthesis of robust H∞ control by output feedback for discrete systems based on new LMI parametrization and evolutionary optimization

Abstract

This work presents a new parametrization of H∞ robust output-feedback control for linear time-invariant systems, discrete time, based on linear matrix inequalities. The proposed formulation considers parameter-dependent Lyapunov function and includes adjustment matrices that must be determined a priori. We propose applying evolutionary optimization for computing these adjustment matrices. The higher computational cost to achieve the optimal adjustment matrices is justified by the improvement of the control system performance. We present a case study to demonstrate the best result of the proposed synthesis characterization.
