Abstract

This work presents a methodology for modeling electrical distribution systems (EDS) using the Geographic Database of the Distributor (BDGD) from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). Two software tools were used: QGIS for importing and analyzing the database of electrical network components, and OpenDSS for implementing the EDS and analyzing power flow. The methodology was applied to the medium voltage EDS of the city of Cruz das Almas, Bahia, including power flow analysis and the geographical arrangement of network components. The power flow results revealed losses of 0.8% in the feeder and adequate voltage levels for load operation. Finally, the methodology shows potential for modeling other EDS present in the BDGD for planning and efficient operation studies of these systems.
