Abstract

Active teaching methodologies constitute an efficient teaching-learning model that stimulates student’s intellectual autonomy and replaces lectures by dynamic classes. Due to its disruptive characteristic, some educational institutions still maintain the traditional teaching methodology and, therefore, have not yet experienced the advantages that this tool can provide. In this work, application results of the active teaching methodology to students of the Electrical Engineering course are presented. They were encouraged for mitigating practical experiments limitations that consolidate knowledge of the disciplines of Electrical Machines, Electrical Power Quality and Energy Efficiency. At the end of the work, the students were able to expand experimental classes scope held in the electrotechnical laboratory of the Instituto Federal da Bahia campus Paulo Afonso, by structuring a new pedagogical practice with equipment already existing at the institute.
