Abstract

This article aims to develop an application of classic robust control tools to electromobility in isolated communities in the Amazon. These isolated communities sometimes have no electricity supply from the conventional grid. The main difficulty is geographical accessibility, so in many communities, the only way to access and move people and cargo to these communities is using small and medium-sized boats, which use fossil fuels, usually diesel, representing a high cost for these communities. In this way, this article proposes the investigation of an isolated microgrid that qualitatively describes a boat, represented by a power generation system, active and passive loads, and a buck-type converter, to which control methodologies are applied to ensure system stability and performance. Simulations were carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, tests were carried out on parametric variations of the microgrid about the supply voltage and load variations, and it was found that the robust control strategy could provide better results than classic controller design techniques.
