Abstract

This work applies variable structure and sliding mode control theory to a polarimetric-based optical sensor system, used to measure a high voltage signal. The equivalent system was simulated in Simulink and a periodic waveform provided by a voltage elevation system was processed. The signal of interest was demodulated and compared to the original signal. The total harmonic distortion of three waveforms with different harmonic content was calculated and compared for different switch functions in the sliding mode controller.
