Abstract

This paper deals with robust control of a class of continuous-time switched systems subject to norm bounded uncertainty, in which the dynamic matrices are periodic with respect to a parameter. The main goal is to design a robust state-dependent switching function to ensure asymptotic tracking of a reference trajectory. An index of H2 type is taken into account to ensure a suitable level of performance for the overall system. The control methodology allows handling uncertain systems with linear fractional transformation structure (LFT) and is based on sufficient conditions expressed in terms of LMIs that ensure global asymptotic tracking when the parameter is time-dependent or local when it is state-dependent. The proposed technique is validated through the robust control of a three-phase AC-DC converter and a permanent magnet synchronous machine.
