Abstract

This paper proposes a method for optimizing the performance of distribution systems by optimizing the Volt-Var curve parameters in smart inverters for connecting photovoltaic systems. The technique aims to minimize energy losses in branches over a 24-hour horizon. The solution is implemented using OpenDSS and Particle Swarm Optimization. Simulations conducted on IEEE 13 and 34 bus test systems demonstrate performance improvement through the appropriate adjustment of reactive power support, which, in addition to reducing losses, contributes to improving the voltage profile.
