Abstract

This work presents a measurement technique developed with the goal of obtaining specifications for inductors involved in the design of direct current (DC-DC) converters, which are widely used in the context of power electronics and are of noted importance in various literatures. The identification method consists of an algorithm based on the non-recursive least squares estimator. Tests were conducted using an implemented experimental apparatus, which made it possible to analyze saturation, as well as measure voltage and current under the nominal operating conditions of the inductors. These quantities were applied to the algorithm, which in turn specified the inductors through their values of inductance and resistance. These values were compared with those provided by a commercial LCR meter. The results obtained assess the viability of the proposed inductor measurement technique.
