Abstract

Brazilian industries have several motor-driven systems and the management of maintenance, retrofit and replacement of assets are very important. Based on this concern, it is important to develop automated technical-economic analysis of assets, especially with a point of view of replacement. From this perspective, the software ReplaceMOTOR v1.0 appears as an useful tool for managers, especially to the replacement of electric motors in operation with brand new ones with high efficiency. In the software, we simulated the replacement of the local motors and perform life cycle cost analysis (ACCV) for different scenarios. The software statistically presents the potential for energy savings in these actions. Several results are presented that show the cost-effectiveness of these energy efficiency actions (AEE) and, the impacts of the technique of replacing motors with brand new ones with reduced rated power and high-efficiency.
