Abstract

This paper develops an iterative method based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to propose a solution for the problem of synthesizing a proportional controller for trajectory tracking in the context of discrete-time positive linear systems. The designed controller, in addition to making the system trajectories follow a given reference signal, must assure the positivity of the system (that is, maintain non-negative outputs and states for non-negative inputs and non-negative initial conditions). The performance of the designed trajectory tracker is evaluated through an example borrowed from the literature, showing that the proposed technique provides a smaller error between the reference signal and the trajectories of the controlled system when compared with a literature method.
