Abstract

The research addresses techniques for noise reduction in partial discharges (PD) measured in current transformers (CT) and inductive potential transformers (IPT) in the 145 kV voltage class. Using the moving media (MA), savitzky-golay (SG) and butterworth (BW) filters, the study proposes filtering techniques to evaluate the minimization of noise in the results obtained in laboratory tests. In addition, it explores the integration of these filters with the wavelet transform (WT), improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The use of the combination of these techniques sought to analyze results in signal quality. The tests were carried out at the High and Extra High Voltage Laboratory the Federal University od Pará. The filters showed variable effectiveness, depending on the characteristics of the signals. The approach is promising, but requires additional research with adaptive parameters to improve PD diagnostics in real systems.
