Abstract

Wind energy plays a crucial role in the transition to more sustainable energy sources, with significant growth in its share of the global electricity matrix. This study investigated its application to the power system and the instability caused by wind ramp effects. The objective was to analyze the integration of this source into a system capable of balancing its demand through thermal power units, aiming for economic and efficient dispatch. The methodology employed was Evolutionary Strategies based on bio-evolution processes. The results reveal that the integration of wind energy into the system is feasible when aligned with the demand adjustment process using thermal power units, resulting in economic and efficient dispatch and contributing to system stability. It is concluded that this approach could be an effective solution to the wind ramp problem, making its implementation viable.
