Abstract

This work addresses the problem of designing dynamic output feedback controllers using data collected from the open-loop system. The new technique developed in this work utilizes input-state-output data to rewrite the system in terms of data and build a condition based on linear matrix inequalities for synthesizing the dynamic output feedback controller without the need for explicitly knowing a model for the system. In contrast to related conditions in the literature, the proposed condition is derived without using techniques such as equality constraints, iterative methods, or variable substitution. Finally, the proposed approach is evaluated in two case studies, which illustrate the effectiveness of the designed controllers in terms of asymptotic stability through closed-loop simulations.
