Abstract

The active teaching methodology consists of a pedagogical actions set that have been revolutionizing student learning in recent decades. However, even with the relevance of this topic, some educational institutions have not yet experienced the advantages that can be provided by this tool. In this work, the results of the application of the active teaching methodology for students of the secondary technical course in electromechanics at the Federal Institute of Bahia are presented. This work proposal consists of developing an educational prototype that provides the solution to an everyday problem, through the integration of knowledge acquired in the disciplines of automation, electropneumatics and electrical drives. At the end of the work, an automatic process for separating recycled materials was built and the students involved in the activities positively evaluated the pedagogical tool application and, in addition, they have shown enthusiasm for participating in more problem-solving actions.
