Abstract

The increase in population and the improvement in the quality of life means that there is an increasing demand for energy in a scenario in which the energy supply does not grow in the same proportion, generating the need for better and more efficient management of energy and highlighting the importance of studies in the area of renewable energies. This project proposes the simulated development of an electrical energy management system isolated from the grid. The energy will be made available through a photovoltaic panel and an electrical energy storage system. The application should initially use only the energy from the photovoltaic panel, whose surplus will be stored in supercapacitors and in an electric battery during the period in which there is sunlight. Energy management will ensure that, in the event of a lack of alternative energy, the storage system, made up of supercapacitors, will keep the system in operation. If both the generation system and the storage system cannot supply the energy needed for the system to work, the battery would be used. The project's main focus is the efficient management for the use of energy in isolated systems from the grid, with the use of the energy generated using an alternative energy source.
