Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis between Zero-Input and Hold-Input control strategies for dynamic systems connected via a wireless communication network. A emulation environment consisting of three microcontrollers was designed to emulate the dynamic behavior of a remotely controlled industrial tank, as well as the effects of attenuation of the signals transmitted by the network. Two state feedback control techniques, with reference tracking, were evaluated for the stabilization of Markov Jump Linear, which appropriately model the packet loss introduced by the communication network. The results show that the Zero-Input strategy performed better, especially when aligned with the designed mode-dependent controllers, with an average reduction of 85% in settling time.
