Abstract

This article analyzes different Global Maximum Power Point Tracking (Global - MPPT) Techniques. The first one is known as the ant colony optimization(ACO), including a detailed flowchart, whereas the second comprehends the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). In sequence, considering both optimization techniques, there are simulation results involving a photovoltaic system for the case of partial shading conditions. In both cases, the global MPPT was achieved under different transient performances. Finally, it follows a brief discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of both optimization techniques.
