Abstract

A power grid with a robust protection system must be planned to ensure continuity, reliability and flexibility of supply. In the distribution network, reclosers are essential equipment that must be parameterized according to regulations and coordinated with each other. In this study, we used the database of a regulatory agency to obtain a real feeder, which was filtered and analyzed using QGIS, an open source geographic information system, allowing to accurately map the topology. In electrical terms, the network was simulated using OpenDSS and Python, obtaining all fault currents. Subsequently, the authors parameterized and coordinated all reclosers properly, obtaining satisfactory results.
