Abstract

This paper proposes an efficient methodology for calculating ground-level electric fields produced by three-phase overhead transmission lines. By using the Finite Element Method and GMSH software, this approach significantly reduces computational costs without losing the accuracy of the results. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is validated by comparing the numerical results obtained by the methodology and the expected analytical results. These advances in numerical modeling encourage the application of the Finite Element Method in optimizing the geometry of overhead transmission lines.
