Abstract

Some sectors in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) have used the LoRaWAN protocol to connect their devices, given that its physical layer, the LoRa PHY, has low energy consumption and the ability to reach high communication distances. This protocol requires that the transmissions parameters must match between the transmitter and receiver for the decoding and demodulation processes be realized. In the present work, we propose a multiparameter LoRa gateway using software-defined radio (SDR), which receives and demodulates any signal captured by the receiver and, through the GNU Radio software, is capable of handling several parameters simultaneously, increasing the versatility of LoRa networks. We evaluate the Packet Delivery Rate (PDR) and the Bit Error Rate (BER), aiming to check the proposed gateway performance, featuring a minimum PDR of 92% and a maximum BER of 0.06 for spot configurations.
