Abstract

Non-isolated high step-up dc-dc converters have been used in a wide range of modern applications, including renewable energy systems and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), among others. However, many topologies are only viable for low-power applications, whereas issues other than the voltage gain are also quite important, e.g., component count, stresses on the semiconductors, and efficiency. In this context, this paper presents a non-isolated DC-DC boost converter based on the three-state switching cell (3SSC) and coupled inductors, which is capable of providing high step-up and reduced stresses on the semiconductors. The operating principle and theoretical analysis are described in detail. Simulation results are also presented to validate the study.
