Abstract

This article discusses the importance of practical experiments in the educational process of training engineers, as used by the Digital Control Laboratory at the Federal University of Piauí with temperature, humidity, level and speed plans. One innovation discussed is the addition of an air levitation plant with flow regulator, which offers a different approach to control problems in a new system. The use of a flow regulator inspired by an iris diaphragm is mentioned to control the height of the object in the levitation tunnel through the application of Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) to predict the system outputs and control the height of the levitated object, comparing it with a classic PID controller through comparative and statistical data.
