Abstract

Engineering faces challenges in solving optimization problems, requiring research to develop practical and flexible procedures. Meta-heuristic techniques emerge as a promising alternative, based on the behavior of different species in their natural environment. This article proposes to reduce the net energy cost for the end user in a power system with hybrid generation, using the BESS device connected to the load side and the SOS meta-heuristic. The BESS is charged during periods of low demand and discharged at peak times, optimizing operation and reducing energy costs.
