Abstract

Voltage imbalance in the electrical grid significantly impacts the efficient functioning of equipment connected to the grid. In particular, the three-phase induction motor (MIT) is a device affected by this condition. This article aims to investigate the impacts of voltage unbalance on MIT performance. For this, a model of the radial system to which the engine is integrated was developed and dynamic equations that describe the behavior of the engine were implemented in software OpenModelica. Finally, simulations to analyze how load variations, and consequently the resulting voltage imbalances, affect motor performance.
