Abstract

This paper proposes a methodology for intelligent pruning management in electric power distribution networks. This methodology is based on a multi-criteria decision-making aid tool, whose attributes are defined based on several indices of practical interest, ranging from reliability indicators to specific information on vegetation throughout the distribution network. The proposed decision tool is characterized by the S-OWA ordering operator, used to aggregate information on the attributes considered and make a decision. The results obtained for different scenarios show the effectiveness of the tool in prioritizing tree pruning, thus suggesting its potential for use by energy distribution companies.
