Abstract

The electrification of the transport sector is a current trend to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. However, its massive inclusion in the network can lead to transformer and lines overload, especially when simultaneity occurs between EV charging sections. This paper probabilistically evaluates the simultaneity factor of electric vehicles in a residential area, using real data from measurement campaign carried out in United Kingdom. Monte Carlo is used considering two charging patterns: weekly charging, in which vehicles charge every other day, and daily charging. The results show the adoption of daily charging, can lead to higher simultaneous factor, with a more pessimistic scenario of transformers and lines overload in statistical and impact studies.
