Abstract

This work investigates the problem of mathematical modeling for the level system in industrial tanks. The trials were conducted using the didactic plant SMAR PD3-F. The methodology of this work employs system identification techniques for black-box models. From experimental trials, linear Autoregressive with Exogenous Inputs (ARX) and nonlinear Autoregressive with Exogenous Inputs (NARX) models are obtained, describing the behavior of the level system. The results suggest that the NARX model provides a better characterization of the level plant dynamics. The NARX and ARX models achieved RMSE index values of 0.197 and 0.216, respectively.
