Abstract

This paper proposes a methodology for the use of the intelligent Volt/Var and Volt/Watt functions of Distributed Energy Resources inverters in electrical power distribution networks. The evaluation consists of performing Volt/Var and Volt/Watt controls from the frequency inverter, which assists in voltage regulation from the insertion and/or absorption of active and reactive power in the distribution system. For this application of the methodology, five tests were carried out on a 10-bus IEEE system in the OpenDSS software, where voltage levels were compared with and without intelligent controls, adjustment of positions of voltage control equipment, among other factors, verifying which scenario is the most suitable for this network.
