Abstract

In the context of motor rehabilitation, gametherapy emerges as a promising approach that integrates elements of games and challenges to enhance engagement and entertainment during treatment. By utilizing information such as limb position and patient muscle activity, games dynamically adjust their interactions based on sensor data. This approach allows movements and muscle activations, typically involuntary in daily life, to become intentional during therapy, thereby facilitating both treatment and assessment of patient progress. This work proposes the development of a system using distributed microcontrollers along with a set of inertial sensors, integrated through a wireless communication protocol (ESPNOW) for client-server communication. The results cover data acquisition, filtering processes, and wireless communication methodologies, emphasizing the benefits of this technology for clinical practice and research in motor rehabilitation.
