Abstract

This work proposes a decision-support system for the continuity of the operation of the three-phase induction motor (T.I.M.) under overload based on paraconsistent annoted logic with two values (PAL2v). The proposed methodology uses PAL2v to analyze the temperature and speed of the engine, in order to assist in decision-making regarding the continuity of operation of the T.I.M. and, consequently, anticipate immediate damage. It was found that PAL2v allows dealing with uncertainties and ambiguities present in the operation of the T.I.M. in overload, contributing to the improvement of the energy efficiency and reliability of the system. Therefore, PAL2v proved to be a promising strategy, especially in situations with contradictory information in which Classical Logic fails to present a satisfactory solution.
