Abstract

This work presents a dispatch model for integrated renewable power generation system. It is assumed that the power system operator, located in the northern region of Minas Gerais, manages a system with dispatchable generating units, one hydroelectric plant and three thermal plants; and with non-dispatchable units, one wind farm and one photovoltaic plant. The results of the simulation of the economic dispatch model, using the interior point optimization technique, show the importance of non-dispatchable generating units, which allow hydroelectric plants to function as stored units of energy for the system and ensured cost reduction of the integrated system in unfavorable hydrological scenarios.
