Abstract

This paper combines predictive scheduling and multi-agent consensus with an approach to validate the insertion of urgent production schedules in flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). An algorithm is proposed to prevent the insertion of schedules from resulting in deadlocks. A multi-agent system (MAS) is adapted to run production, and urgency insertions are validated during MAS convergence periods. The efficiency of the approach is proven with experiments carried out on a physical factory simulation platform.
