Abstract

The accurate estimation of the electrical parameters of a three-phase induction motor is important for modeling and tuning controllers. This work presents results of estimating the parameters of a three-phase induction motor model W22 IR3 Premium using two heuristic methods: Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Differential Evolution Optimization (DEO). The results are compared with parameter estimation via direct current, locked rotor and no-load tests. The validation of the methods used is carried out based on the torque, efficiency, power factor curves provided by the manufacturer. The results show that the parameters obtained by optimization present a smaller percentage error than the parameters obtained through experimental tests.
