Abstract

Recent installation of three photovoltaic generators within Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) Central Campus energy grid may have a negative effect on the reliability of the present protection system as it was originally set up considering a unidirectional downstream load flow. In this paper, short-circuit current contribution from inverter-based solar generator of the Zila Mamede Central Library will be simulated for different types of faults at the primary and secondary sides of the library substation, as well as short-circuit levels with and without the distributed generators will be shown.
