Abstract
This work addresses the planning expansion of the electric power transmission systems considering uncertainties in demand. The Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm will be used to solve the optimization problem. Furthermore, strategies to enhance the DE search process will be investigated. Based on the results, the most promising alternative will be identified to work together with the Monte Carlo simulation to obtain expansion strategies in a scenario of demand uncertainties. The methodology will be applied to the IEEE 24 bus system as a way to validate the proposal.
