Abstract

In this work, the monitoring of perturbation effects on power transmission through High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) links in the Brazilian Interconnected Power System (BIPS) is proposed. The continuous monitoring will be implemented through an infrastructure of measuring, acquiring, processing and storing of synchrophasor data to be installed in converter stations of the BIPS, designed for the automatic record of data related to events such as interruptions, temporary or not, of the power transmitted through one or more HVDC links. Results that attest to the effectiveness of the indicators proposed in the characterization of the severity of the events in the dynamics of the SIN were obtained through simulations of electromagnetic transients. The simulated events included commutation failures and direct current line faults.
