Abstract

Initially designed to address the shortage of ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic, the VITA has demonstrated other virtues and, based on tests, presented promising results regarding its application in other areas, such as the treatment of different respiratory syndromes, including low-complexity hospitals, ambulances, and veterinary use. The VITA system is designed to automate the operation of a manual resuscitator (AMBU) without relying on hospital gases, eliminating the need for a compressed air or oxygen line. This work introduces the enhancement of the VITA ventilator, an affordable device for treating respiratory issues, and proposes the VITA Cloud version, a web platform designed for remote management of the VITA device and monitored patients.
