Abstract

This study addresses the importance of image assessment of photovoltaic generators, be it centralized or distributed generation, emphasizing the relevance of the electroluminescence (EL) technique for supporting the quality control of photovoltaic installations. The paper provides examples of occurrences that required product quality evaluations using EL technique to identify detectable and evaluable defects, thus demonstrating the efficacy of EL image analysis in characterizing defects in photovoltaic modules. The technique allows for the identification of regions with low efficiency or susceptible to future failures, contributing to enhance the quality and performance of photovoltaic systems.
