Abstract

Objective of this study was to include a support approach, in order to help the public manager in decision-making, in projects related to the modernization and efficientization of the public lighting park by LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology combined with multicriteria method AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Bayesian Networks, through probabilistic analysis that most impact the sustainability aspects. The method consists of a quantitative surveythat was composed of the development of a new methodological approach with the combination of the AHP method and the Bayesian Network. In conclusion, the results obtained from the Bayesian Network modeling provided invaluable support to the experts involved in the decision-making process. This approach not only made it possible to make complex decisions in a more informed way, but also established a determining parameter for the action to be taken, as well as enriching the process of justification. It is therefore clear that this methodology represents a substantial advance in the ability to address the challenges of sustainability in the management of public lighting systems.
