Abstract
Permanent faults in Distribution Systems (DSs) cause economic problems for customers and electrical power distribution companies. Companies have invested in solutions for automating the operation through service restoration to ensure that the DSs operate within certain quality standards and continuity of power supply. Distributed Generation (DG) has been used to improve the quality and reliability of service in DSs. It can be used to reduce fault impact by allowing larger loads to be reconnected to the system. This paper proposed a Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm with subpopulation tables considering the existence of DG with the possibility of intentional islanding whenever out-of-service areas can be supplied by their distributed generators. Simulations were performed on a DS presented in the literature with 70 buses to evaluate the proposed methodology.
